Europe’s Diesel Use Exceeds Gasoline, & Gasoline Demand is Falling
SThe “dieselization” of Europe  is a phrase relating to changes in Europe’s transportation sector.  Europe has large incentives to purchase diesel-fueled light-duty vehicles and use diesel fuel rather than gasoline.

SThe resulting shift in new light duty vehicle sales has increased demand for diesel fuel in Europe, and decreased demand for gasoline as the share of gasoline versus diesel-fueled light duty vehicles shifts.

SMoreover, the  rate of  decline in gasoline demand has been increasing since 2000.
