| Overview: No retail unbundling program is being considered at this time by either the North Carolina Public Utilities Commission or the State legislature. The emphasis instead is on trying to get gas service to all areas of the State. Industrial and commercial customers are able to receive unbundled service. |
| EIA State Data: In 2007, North Carolina had 1,063,871 residential and 112,092 commercial customers. They consumed approximately 58 and 45 billion cubic feet of natural gas, respectively. The average prices residential and commercial customers paid for natural gas from local distribution companies were $15.70 and $12.77 per thousand cubic feet, respectively. |
