Retail Unbundling - Arizona
Status: The state has no unbundled natural gas
service programs for residential customers.
Overview: No retail unbundling program for natural
gas is actively being considered at this time by either the Arizona Corporation
Commission or the state legislature. Only large-volume industrial and
commercial customers have access to unbundled service.
EIA State Data: In 2003, Arizona had 957,442 residential
and 56,082 commercial natural gas customers who consumed 36 and 32 billion cubic
feet of natural gas, respectively. The average prices for natural gas purchased
from local distribution companies (LDCs) by residential and commercial
customers were $11.31 and $7.84 per thousand cubic feet, respectively.
