Note: No
firm proposals to expand pipeline capacity into the New England region
have been announced or filed with the FERC during the past year. The
Portland Natural Gas Transmission Company held an open season for
possible expansion of its recently (1998) completed 178 million cubic
feet per day import system but has yet to announce the results of the
market test. The Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline (400 million cubic
feet per day), completed in late 1999, can be expected to expand as
Sable Island (Canada offshore) gas production continues to be expanded,
but no plans to do so have been officially announced. |
