EIA's monthly and annual data on deliveries of natural gas are obtained from natural gas utilities and other energy service providers, which often use their service classes to report data by energy-use sector. Depending on their recordkeeping practices, respondents:

• may include deliveries or sales to apartment buildings or homes on military bases;
  
• may include deliveries to small industrial customers;
  
• may exclude deliveries to small commercial customers (which may be included in the residential sector) and sales to large commercial customers (which may be included in the industrial sector).
