Total Consumption of Electricity : The total amount of electricity used by manufacturing establishments, defined as :

the sum of quantities of electricity that are :

1. purchased;
2. transferred in; and
3. generated onsite from any source;
   

minus quantities of electricity that are :

4. sold; and
5. transferred offsite.

    "Total Consumption of Electricity" is not the same as "Net Electricity" because "Net Electricity" specifically excludes electricity generated onsite from combustible energy sources.
