Energy-Management Activities
Manufacturers may conduct a number of energy-management activities to improve the efficiency of energy use. In the petroleum industry, the top reported activities in 1998 included special rate schedule facility lighting, direct machine drive and equipment modifications to improve the efficiency of steam production. Overall, about 50% of the industry population reported engaging in at least one energy-management activity. [MECS 1998]
