The metalcasting industry (SIC 3321 only) used about 157 trillion Btu of energy in 1994, including electricity losses. Approximately 30 trillion Btu each of natural gas, coke and breeze, and electricity (excluding losses) were used, together with small amounts of LPG and coal. Electrical losses represent another 63 trillion Btu. [MECS 1994]
