Monthly Energy Review (06/24/2009)
EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions. In the first quarter of 2009, total net imports of energy as a share of consumption in the United States stood at 24.8 percent, up slightly from 24.5 percent in the first quarter of 2008 but down noticeably from 27.2 percent in the first quarter of 2007. Foreign Direct Investment in U.S. Energy 2006 (06/10/2009)
Today the Energy Information Administration released the report, Foreign Direct Investment in U.S. Energy 2006. This report describes the role of direct foreign ownership of U.S. energy enterprises with respect to their energy operations, capital investments, and net foreign investment flows (including net loans). In addition, since energy investments are made in a global context, the report examines patterns of direct investment in foreign energy enterprises by U.S.-based companies.

OPEC Revenues Fact Sheet (06/09/2009) (PDF - 0 meg)
Based on projections from the EIA June 2009 Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) could earn $530 billion of net oil export revenues in 2009 and $620 billion in 2010. Last year, OPEC earned $968 billion in net oil export revenues, a 42 percent increase from 2007. Saudi Arabia earned the largest share of these earnings, $285 billion, representing 29 percent of total OPEC revenues. On a per-capita basis, OPEC net oil export earning reached $2,680 in 2008, a 40 percent increase from 2007.

Short-Term Energy Outlook June 2009 (06/09/2009)

International Petroleum Monthly - May 2009 (06/09/2009)
This report contains world petroleum production data through March 2009; and OECD country petroleum demand, imports, and stocks data through February 2009. Also included are international oil balance data for 2004-2008 and annual petroleum data series for 1970-2008.

Annual Energy Outlook 2009 with Projections to 2030 (03/31/2009)
The AEO2009 presents projections of energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030, which are based on results from EIA's National Energy Modeling System (NEMS). The analysis in AEO2009 focuses primarily on a reference case and four other cases that assume higher and lower economic growth and higher and lower oil prices than in the reference case. However, the analysis includes over 30 alternative cases examining different aspects of energy markets.

Revisions to International Page on the EIA Web Site (03/27/2009)
Most of the links in the Data section on the left side of the International page of the EIA website have been revised to direct users to default tables in EIA’s recently-released International Energy Statistics Portal. The customer can modify these tables to show different products; countries, regions or country groups; time periods; and units of measure.  The tables can also be downloaded as Excel spreadsheets.

The table has been updated to include country-level proved natural gas reserve estimates for January 1, 2009 from the Oil & Gas Journal and the EIA estimate for the United States for January 1, 2008.

World Crude Oil Distillation Capacity, January 1, 1970 - January 1, 2009 (02/09/2009)

International Energy Annual 2006 (01/22/2008)
The International Energy Annual 2006 is the Energy Information Administration's primary report of international energy statistics. Included are data on energy consumption and production; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, and electricity, as well as carbon dioxide emissions from the use of fossil fuels, petroleum prices, energy reserves, and population; and data unit conversion tables. For many series, data cover the years 1980-2006. Also included is a World Energy Overview comparing 1996 and 2006.

Electricity Data for the International Energy Annual 2006 (12/22/2008)
Excel spreadsheets with time series data for the years 1980-2006 on: (1) net consumption and generation of hydroelectric, nuclear, and geothermal, solar, wind, and wood and waste electric power in both billion kilowatthours and British thermal units (Btu); (2) net conventional thermal electricity generation, total net electricity generation, and total net electricity consumption in billion kilowatthours; (3) electricity imports and exports in both billion kilowatthours and Btu; and (4) gross heat content of hydroelectric power, nuclear electric power, and geothermal electric power, solar and wood and waste electric power, and wind electric power. Also included are Excel spreadsheets with time series data for January 1, 1980-January 1, 2006 on electricity installed capacity by type. Petroleum Data for the International Energy Annual 2006 (12/19/2008)
Excel spreadsheets with detailed country-level data for 2005 on petroleum supply and disposition, output of refined petroleum products, imports of refined petroleum products, exports of refined petroleum products, and apparent consumption of refined petroleum products, as well as crude oil refining capacity by process for January 1, 2007. Also included are Excel spreadsheets with time series data for the years 1980-2006 on: (1) petroleum consumption, crude oil production and natural gas plant liquids production, in both thousand barrels per day and British thermal units; (2) world oil supply from the production of other liquids in thousand barrels per day; (3) world oil supply from refinery processing gain in thousand barrels per day; (4) world production of crude oil, natural gas plant liquids, and other liquids in thousand barrels per day; (5) world production of crude oil, natural gas plant liquids, and other liquids, and refinery processing gain in thousand barrels per day; (6) gross heat content of crude oil and natural gas plant liquids in thousand Btu per barrel; and (7) barrels of crude oil per metric ton. Performance Profiles of Major Energy Producers 2007 (12/18/2008)
Today EIA released the Performance Profiles of Major Energy Producers report for 2007. The report is a comprehensive annual financial review and analysis of the domestic and worldwide activities and operations of the major U.S.-based energy-producing companies.

Early Release of the Reference Case from the Annual Energy Outlook 2009 (12/17/2008)
The AEO2009 presents long-term projections of energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030, which are based on results from EIAs National Energy Modeling System (NEMS). The AEO2009 Early Release only includes the reference case. The full publication, including many additional cases examining energy markets, will be released early 2009.

Acquisitions & Divestitures by Foreign Direct Investors in U.S. Energy in 2006 (05/22/2008)
Today the Energy Information Administration released its annual report, Acquisitions & Divestitures by Foreign Direct Investors in U.S. Energy in 2006. Foreign direct acquisitions are purchases, directly or indirectly, by the original foreign investor resulting in the ownership of 10 percent or more of the voting securities of an incorporated U.S. business enterprise or the equivalent interest in an unincorporated U.S. business.
