Electricity Generation
Capability
- For commercial
buildings as a whole, approximately 8 percent of buildings had
the capability to generate electricity, and only 4 percent of
buildings actually generated any electricity.
- Most all
buildings generated electricity only for the purpose of emergency
back-up.
- Inpatient
health care and public order and safety buildings were much more
likely to have the capability to generate electricity than other
building types. Over half of all inpatient health care buildings
and about one-third of public order and safety buildings actually
used this capability.
