1979 to 2003 Buildings and Floorspace Trends—Detail

 

The 95% confidence ranges for each of the point estimates of the total number of buildings and amount of floorspace for each survey year are shown below (Figures 3 and 4). The number of buildings showed a statistically significant increase between 1979 and 1992. Since 1995, the confidence ranges overlap and there was not a statistically significant change in the number of buildings between 1995 and 2003. In contrast, floorspace did show a significant increase over that period.
