Biography
John J. Conti was appointed Director, Office of Integrated Analysis and Forecasting (OIAF) in December 2004. In that capacity, John is responsible for the domestic and international midterm energy projections and the Energy Information Administration's (EIA) Greenhouse Gas Program. OIAF publishes four annual reports in these areas: the Annual Energy Outlook, the International Energy Outlook, Emissions of Greenhouse Gases in the United States, and the Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions. In addition to these duties, Mr. Conti is also responsible for preparing Congressional Testimony and responding to analytic requests from the Congress, the Administration, and other governmental entities.

Prior to his appointment as Office Director, John was the Division Director for the International, Economic and Greenhouse Gases Division of OIAF, where he was responsible for EIA's greenhouse gas program, macroeconomic forecasts and analyses, and international energy projections and analyses.

Between 1992 and 2002, Mr. Conti worked in the Department of Energy's Office of Policy and International Affairs, where he worked on a number of energy policies issues, including various National Energy Plans, greenhouse gas mitigation plans, and restructuring of the electric power industry. John served in various roles, including operations research analyst; Deputy Director, Office of Economic Analysis and Competition; and Acting Director, Office of Electricity and Natural Gas Analysis.

From September 1980 to 1992, Mr. Conti worked for the EIA in the Offices of Energy Markets and End Use; Oil and Gas; and Coal, Nuclear, Electric and Alternative Fuels; focusing on economic analysis of the refinery and electric power sectors and integrated forecasting activities, including the development of EIA's National Energy Modeling System (NEMS).

Mr. Conti has a Master of Science degree in management and policy sciences and an undergraduate degree in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
