Domestic Uranium Production Report - Quarterly

4th Quarter 2007 uranium production was 1.2 million pounds;
and preliminary 2007 total production was 4.7 million pounds in the United States

Production of uranium concentrate in the United States was 1,175,845 pounds uranium oxide (U₃O₈) for the fourth quarter, and the 2007 preliminary total was 4,679,285 pounds U₃O₈. Fourth quarter production was 4 percent lower than the previous quarter; 2007 production increased 14 percent compared with 2006, and was the highest cumulative production in 8 years. One U.S. mill and five U.S. in-situ-leach plants produced uranium concentrate during the fourth quarter 2007.

Operating status changes for fourth quarter 2007:

- Shootaring Canyon mill changed from "Standby" to "Changing License to Operational"
- Christensen Ranch in-situ-leach (ISL) changed from "Standby" to "Changing License to Operational"
- Irigaray Ranch ISL changed from "Reclamation" to "Inactive"
- Church Rock ISL status changed from "Partially Permitted and Licensed" to "Under Construction"
- La Palangana ISL changed from "Under Development" to "Partially Permitted and Licensed"
