Domestic Uranium Production Report - Quarterly
1st Quarter 2009
U.S. production of uranium concentrate was 880,036 pounds U3O8, down 15 percent from the previous quarter, but up 9 percent from the first quarter 2008. During the first quarter 2009, U.S. uranium concentrate was produced at six U.S. uranium concentrate processing facilities, one less than during the fourth quarter 2008. One additional facility had shutdown at the end of the first quarter 2009.

Final 2008 Production Total
U.S. uranium concentrate production totaled 3,902,383 pounds U3O8 in 2008. This amount is 14 percent lower than the 4,533,578 pounds produced in 2007.
