Short Title: Consumer Energy Commission Act of 2001

Purpose: To establish a Consumer Energy Commission to assess
and provide recommendations regarding recent energy price spikes from
the perspective of consumers.
Summary: Establishes the Consumer Energy Commission to conduct
a nationwide study of significant price spikes in major U.S. consumer
energy products during the ten years preceding the date of enactment
of this Act, and report its findings to Congress.
