EIA Electric Power Forms:

Listing of Publicly Available and Confidential Data

EIA's statistical surveys encompass each significant electric supply and demand activity in the United States. Most of the electric power survey forms resulting data elements are published, but respondent confidentiality is required. The chart below shows the data elements for each survey form and how each data element is treated in regard to confidentiality.

Chart Showing Survey Data Element List and Confidentiality
Key to Chart
X = Data currently collected and available at the lowest detailed level
C = Data currently collected, but only available at an aggregated level because of confidentiality
-- = Not applicable.
X/C = Some data not available at lowest level because of confidentiality

1 On the Form EIA-923, commodity fuel costs are confidential for all plants. The total delivered cost of fuel collected on the EIA-923 is publicly available for utility (regulated) power plants, but is confidential for non-regulated power plants
2 On the Form EIA-826, monthly electric sales, revenue and the number of customers reported is initially confidential for energy-only service until nine months following the end of the reporting year.
